One of the Marc-André Hamelin will open the One of the leading pianists of his generation,  has explored an eclectic range of composers from Alkan to Villa-Lobos, with over three-dozen recordings on the Hyperion label. His recording of the complete Godowsky Studies on Chopin’s Études won the 2000 Gramophone Instrumental Award. Hamelin’s latest project is a double album of Albeniz’s Iberia and España. His program at Washington and Lee will include Haydn’s Sonata in B minor, Chopin’s Sonata in B minor and the complete Book II of Debussy Preludes

THE KING'S SINGERS

One of the leading a cappella ensembles for the last thirty years, the King's Singers have been delighting audiences around the world with their charm, wit, and incomparable musicianship. From medieval to renaissance, romantic to contemporary, folk and pop, their repertoire is all encompassing. They have performed in many of the world’s major concert halls, from Windsor Castle to the Hollywood Bowl. Their discography includes over 70 albums, many of which have won international prizes and awards.

THE BRENTANO STRING QUARTET

  Brentano String Quartet 
Founded in 1992, The Brentano String Quartet has been singled out for its technical brilliance, musical insight and stylistic elegance. It has won both the Naumburg Chamber Music Award as well as the Cleveland Quartet Award.  The quartet is now in residence at Princeton University, and has been a frequent guest on major North American concert series and on schedules of many international festivals. At Washington and Lee the ensemble will play Mendelssohn’s Quartet in F minor, Shostakovich's Quartet No. 15 in Eb-minor, Op. 144 and Beethoven’s Quartet in E-flat, Op. 127.
